PAUL
HANRAHAN

NCAA DIVISION III PLAYER3× ALL-MAC FREEDOMBOTHELL ALUM

Coach Paul Hanrahan’s connection to Bothell Lacrosse began as a player and has come full circle as a coach. A standout faceoff midfielder for Bothell High School, Hanrahan built his game around toughness, possession, ground-ball play, and competing in the most demanding areas of the field. His impact was significant enough that he established Bothell’s regular-season ground-ball record, a mark that stood for years before eventually being broken by another Bothell faceoff midfielder.

After Bothell, Hanrahan continued his career at NCAA Division III Misericordia University in Pennsylvania. He made an immediate impact as a freshman, winning 55 percent of his faceoffs, collecting 56 ground balls, and earning All-MAC Freedom Honorable Mention. As a sophomore he became a full-time starter and produced 20 goals and 12 assists for 32 points while adding 41 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers, earning Second-Team All-MAC Freedom honors.

Hanrahan continued to establish himself as a complete two-way midfielder during his junior season, recording 13 goals, eight assists, a career-high 65 ground balls, and 12 caused turnovers on his way to another All-MAC Freedom Honorable Mention selection. His collegiate experience included being part of Misericordia’s 2017 MAC Freedom Championship team and the program’s first NCAA Tournament victory.

After his playing career, Hanrahan returned home and invested that experience back into Bothell Lacrosse. For the past six years he has served as the JV Head Coach, while also contributing to the varsity program and coaching within Bothell’s youth teams. His ability to work with players across multiple age groups gives him an important role in building continuity throughout the club.

BOTHELL PLAYER. NCAA LACROSSE. MULTIPLE-TIME ALL-CONFERENCE MIDFIELDER. BOTHELL COACH.

Coach Hanrahan brings players a perspective shaped by every level of the journey—from competing in a Bothell uniform to succeeding in NCAA lacrosse and returning to develop the next generation. His coaching emphasizes toughness, preparation, fundamentals, and competing for every possession. More importantly, he helps young athletes understand that development is earned through consistent work, accountability, and a willingness to do the difficult things that help the team succeed.
