REGISTERVARSITY HEAD COACH
JACOB
CARTWRIGHT
Coach Jacob Cartwright’s lacrosse roots began just across town at Inglemoor High School, Bothell’s neighboring rival. Playing long-stick midfield for Inglemoor in the combined Bothell-Inglemoor lacrosse program of that era, Cartwright developed into one of Washington’s top players, combining defensive ability, athleticism, physical play, and an uncommon ability to impact possession at the faceoff X.
As a junior, Cartwright earned Washington Division I All-State recognition. He elevated his game again as a senior and was selected as a 2014 US Lacrosse All-American at LSM. His versatility was a defining part of his game. In addition to playing long-stick midfield, Cartwright was exceptional at faceoffs, giving his teams another way to win possessions and immediately create pressure in transition.
His development included travel lacrosse with Next Level before taking his game across the country to the collegiate level. Cartwright’s college lacrosse experience included Dean College in Massachusetts and national powerhouse Onondaga Community College in New York. At Onondaga, he was an LSM on the undefeated 2018 NJCAA National Championship team, which finished 15–0, defeated Nassau 11–9 in the national title game, and extended the program’s winning streak to 30 games across two seasons.
After his playing career, Cartwright returned to the Northshore lacrosse community and eventually crossed the rivalry line to coach Bothell. He has coached within the Bothell program since 2018, spending years developing Bothell athletes before ultimately taking over leadership of the varsity program.
ALL-AMERICAN. NJCAA NATIONAL CHAMPION. COLLEGE LACROSSE PLAYER. BOTHELL HEAD COACH.
As head coach, Cartwright’s focus extends beyond wins and losses. He works to develop technically skilled, competitive, disciplined players while building a program where younger athletes can see a clear pathway from youth lacrosse to the Bothell varsity field and beyond.
